Over the last few years, I have encountered challenges that have made me reflect. I have evolved as a person as a result of dealing with the pandemic, mental health, and other personal factors. The pandemic caused not only a disturbance in the way we experienced life before but also caused a great financial burden on me and my family. While being on lockdown, the essence of solitude caused me and my thoughts to wander and even contemplate life at times.
In my work, mental health awareness and spirituality have become an important and big part of who I am and how I choose to express myself during this journey. Growth, acceptance, and empowerment are just a few of the ideas I’ve explored in my work during this time of adversity. I try to illustrate these concepts in ways that will evoke emotion or conversation from my audience.

I began researching symbols and their meanings across history, cultures, and religions, in order to include them in my works. The reason for this is due to how I began my spiritually driven path. As an accepting person, I found it in my best interest to do research and take classes on these topics in order to understand other people's backgrounds, ways of life, and ethics in order to determine how I wanted to do the same and find myself and my beliefs.

The use of various materials and techniques such as metalsmithing, printmaking, and painting will help me to illustrate what I’ve learned along my journey. I choose the use of metals in order to utilize built-up energy and create tactile textures and compositions in sculptural form. Utilizing printmaking techniques helps me express symbolism, typography and images, while painting allows me the freedom to express freely and put my emotions or thoughts onto canvas.
