ARTIST STATEMENT
My art takes emotion and intertwine it with structure-based artworks. It revolves around rendering conceptual sculptures and pieces that reflect on complex emotions. I communicate these feelings through prints, 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional paintings, and sculptures. These are created with multiple mediums and techniques through mixed media such as screen print, oil paint, and wood. I find that through paint I am able to replicate my energetic personality and convey my intentions on a relatable level to my audience. With sculpture I design open structures with boundaries to reflect my introverted mindset and guarded emotions. Through screen printing I am able to mimic the overlapping and layering methods in architecture to create different establishments that we live, gather, and socialize in. I find that my influence comes from buildings that seek to defy traditional designs. The movements I associate these ideas with are Neo- futurism and Deconstructivism. My goal is to add another layer to my viewers perspective when they walk away from my art. That is my arts true purpose.
