Artist Bio
Thuy Le is a Vietnamese art student who is studying art, specifically Graphic Design at Valdosta State University. Le will graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Art in 2021. While a student, Thuy found a love for not only digital media but also printmaking, and more specifically, wood block cutting. When creating her art, a central theme that runs through the varied media is a concern and awareness for global health, social justice, personal and mental wellness.
She had an honor to display one of her artworks in the Dedo Maranville Art Gallery at Valdosta State University, a wood abstract sculpture in the Foundation exhibition.
After graduating, she will be looking for a graphic design job, and continuing her artworks to build up her portfolio. She is also considering on being a freelance graphic designer to challenge herself in different categories.

Artist Statement
She has long admired the illustrators and cartoonists of my youth. Comic books and animated movies made me want to be an artist. Through my interest in these fields, she has found a passion for graphic design and digital media.
Her design work concentrates on the use of shape, color and value and uses photography and digital images to aid in my overall concepts. I often refer to traditional methods of design and use historical references to help me form cohesive, modern and contemporary designs that express my creativity.
Though she wants her work to be beautiful and capture the eye, it is also important that it be based in facts. Drawing attention to the facts that are affecting humankind are at the center of my personal design work and are used to inform others of the impacts we are having on such things as wildlife, global warming, human rights, and mental illness. She imparts a sense of empathy through her design, suggesting to others to be more mindful and conscious in their actions.
