The only queer people are those who don't love anybody.

Artist Statement
In order to completely explore my innermost thoughts and emotional desires, my work explores themes and narratives of raw exposure, satisfaction, and emotional craving for the bond of a partner. The narratives within my pieces explore themes of love, sexual desire, heartbreak, consent, aggression, confusion and allowance all within the homosexual spectrum. Living in a conservative environment and taking moments out of my daily life, I've decided the realm of expression from the average homosexual, should be looked at thoroughly—but perhaps with a bit of fun.
My aesthetic is informed by “storybooks,” fantasy, illustration, and often seek to replicate child-like innocence with adult figurative forms. I explore these themes through different media, mostly working in ceramic sculpture, silkscreen printmaking, and mixed media compositions. These methods provide multiple approaches to the works both technically and visually. My work revolves around the idea of opening up to playful desire, in both love and sensation. With this work I hope to capture the multi-faceted world of our behavior.
I hope to capture the moments in life when we feel naked and vulnerable. Staring at a mirror, examining ourselves, or exploring who we are with a partner we've chosen. I want to illustrate the ways in which we are vulnerable, and create a space in which to explore personal intimacy, sensual awakening, self-acceptance, and our surroundings. I want to see the gay male perspectives of intimacy and emotion heard more by all ears.
