I don’t know where I’m going from here, but I promise it won’t be boring.

Artist Statement
In our American culture, we do not think much about death. We see death as an ending, something upsetting and to be avoided. Along with this, humanity has separated itself from nature, focusing more on our technology and being safe, both from wild animals and from each other. My work tries to combine the spectacle of death with the wild energy of nature. I do this to find a sense of understanding about life and death.
I currently use printmaking in order to make several copies of the same image, in order to distribute my ideas into as many hands as possible. In the intaglio process, a copper plate is left behind. The copper plate is much more permanent than the prints themselves, much like fossils of people and animals of the past. Even after I pass, people will still be able to pull images from my plates, and speculate over the contents.
