Art is freedom. Being able to bend things most people see as a straight line.

Artist Statement
My artwork explores themes of gender, race, class, and sexuality. I grew up in a small southern town that surrounded me with conservative values, and in that context my art is controversial, progressive, and aggressive. I use my art as a form of activism to create awareness and spark conversation about the inequality in the world today.
The majority of my work focuses on the gender inequality that exists in the United States. According to the World Economic Forum, the United States currently falls behind 48 countries when it comes to closing the gap between men and women that accounts for the gendered difference in overall health, education, politics, and economics. To be a wealthy heterosexual white male is the ideal in our country, and it is no mistake that our government systematically oppresses anyone outside of this category. My body of work boldly expresses my concerns about these issues in hopes of generating awareness.
I use many different media such as graphic design, printmaking, and photography. These processes are important to my work because they allow me to mass produce my images more easily. I intend for my work to be a form of propaganda that spreads information to a large audience and create awareness of inequality. I often include information within my work that is intended to educate my audience. I often use a bold color palette and text to attract attention, communicate a message, and change mental narratives.
